Mental Wellbeing

I regularly deliver sessions to young people around mental health. I find so much of the relationships education I deliver is so much about individuals relationships with themselves and their bodies as much as it is about another person. I am incredibly proud of the work I did leading this project to support Somerset Young People to write this series of LifeHacks for Looking after your Mental Health. I also helped found a young person's wellbeing drop in cafe called The Okay Cafe. I came up with the name, logo and brand which I am super proud of. Sadly funding ran out but we achieved a lot and made a massive difference in the time we ran it.

I am also author of the Children's book Pretend Friends which explains psychosis and schizophrenia to children in an age appropriate way.
Currently I am particularly interested in how music, dance, rhythm and movement, creativity and craft can be game changing for mental health. I run a knitting and crochet group called Yarnageddon and I attend a Soundwell monthly music therapy group for carers (I have multiple caring roles) and these along with walking/running and swimming help keep me in balance.

Contact me if you would like to discuss a mental health project with young people or those that work with them.
